Hi All!

My husband and l recently bought a home and the bathroom
Boo Boo Kitty
is in need of some work. The tile comes from the shower stall all the way

around the entire bathroom, roughly 3 feet feet up from the ground.

(we'd leave the shower stall tile as-is) , but wanna cover up the tile or

remove it with a crow bar and put white wood paneling in it is place or
over top of the existing tile.

Do you think this will work?
I've never used wood paneling before, but am thinking it will be a lot
less work to either just cover the existing tile with it, or chip the tile
off with a crow bar and cover the once-tiled portion with it. We'd use
chair molding to finish the top and bottom of the paneling. Also, we'd
most likely need to use chair molding to finish the sides where the wall
tile meets the shower stall tile. Do you think covering the existing tile
or chipping it off would be easier?

Thanks in advance for your
help!

I would not put paneling in the shower/tub area, it will not

last long before you have larger problems. Below is a website, national

chain, that I have used & would certainly use again. If ur tiles are in

good shape, not falling off they would work well. Also at the

hardware/lumber stores they make shower surround kits, some are cheap junk

but there are a few that are good. With the shower kits the fewer the
pieces the better, you just need to make sure you can get through all the
doors to get one in. I did use a one piece that came in a roll, it was
heavy duty & had built in shelves & looked good. This would cover up
quite a bit of the old, I bought it at Home Depot.

There is paint out there that can go over the tile. I have
Precious Treasure
seen it and it looks nice. Not sure what the paint is but I think its

epoxy paint. I would check with a paint store.

I would remove the tile then put up the paneling. You don't

need something as heavy duty as a crow bar. You can use a smaller pry

bar, or just a hammer, if you don't care about saving the tile.

One problem with wood is that it may swell up with the
Sweets
humidity, you should give it time to acclimatise before fixing.
